A MEAL PREPARED & DELIVERED FROM OUR LOCAL TRAITEUR
Soulier, the traiteur in Monpazier, offers our guests a menu of prepared dishes like duck lasagna and quiches.
We’ll arrange for your order to be delivered before you arrive. All you need to do is heat the food up!
DIDIER, OUR MICHELIN-STARRED PRIVATE CHEF
Didier, a Michelin-starred French chef with 45 years’ experience, can come to cook at Le Mas as your private chef for groups of 6 adults or more.
He’ll cook, lay the table, serve and clear up at the end of the night. You just enjoy the delicious food!
BAKERY DELIVERY
Monsieur Moras, the baker from Sainte Sabine Born, can deliver your order of breads, baguettes, croissants and chocolatines (don’t call them pain au chocolat in this part of France!) two mornings a week – on Saturday and Wednesday.
Just text him the day before, and voila!
WINE & TRUFFLE TOURS,
WINE TASTING AT LE MAS
Vince from Dordogne Vineyard Tours offers wine tasting at Le Mas or a fantastic tour of vineyards or truffle farms, which we highly recommend.
Vince worked with Berry Bros and Jamie Oliver. His passion for Bergerac wines is infectious!
RESTAURANT RECOMMENDATIONS
This list is in order of our own and our guests’ recommendations.
From the best pizza place, to Michelin-starred restaurants (like Le Vieux Logis in the photo) and marchés gourmands (night markets in the summer). Book in advance for the summer, to avoid disappointment.
HONESTY BAR
Both Le Mas and Le Mazet have an honesty bar filled with wine and Nespresso coffee for you to grab when you need them.
The organic white, red and rosé wine is from Château le Rayre in Bergerac and we love it!
If you need a refill during your stay, just let us know.
MASSAGES & YOGA
Previous guests rave about Mariëlle’s massages, which she does under the trees in the garden or in your room. €110 for a 90-minute personalized holistic massage.
Katy gives private yoga sessions here for guests of any age and ability. She draws on the Hatha, Vinyasa and Iyengar traditions of yoga. €140 for a 90 minute session.
THE DORDOGNE
We’ve put together the highlights of what there is to see and do in the Dordogne, from châteaux, gardens and villages to golf, canoeing and hot air ballooning.
Don’t miss the walk to Montferrand via some weird and wonderful 12th century frescoes.
FLY OVER THE DORDOGNE
€150 for a 30-minute flight over châteaux and rivers from Belvès aerodrome (20 minutes drive from Le Mas).
Up to 3 of you per flight; multiple flights are possible for larger groups. For those of you who get motion-sickness, it might not be for you!
EV CHARGER
There is a designated parking space with a fast EV charger for you to use.
It’s 22kW with a type 2 connector.
We’ll give you a card for you to swipe when you use the charger, so that you’ll receive an itemised bill for the electricity at the end of your stay.
BIKE RENTAL
Robert, the owner of Aquitaine Bike, knows Le Mas well and will deliver your bikes, adjust them for you and then pick them up.
You can also hire e-bikes from Bees in Monpazier, who will also deliver to Le Mas. With the amount of hills around us, you might prefer this option!
TAXI
We are happy to pick you up or drop off from airports, train stations or restaurants. We have seats for 6 passengers. Just ask for a quote.
Taxi companies are based at airports and train stations. Our local taxi company in Beaumont and Monpazier.
EXTRA CLEANING
We can arrange for our cleaners to clean for you during your stay (minimum 4 hours per clean).
Our wonderful cleaners are available to blitz the kitchen, clear away meals, spruce up bathrooms, iron clothes and straighten up the summer kitchen.
FOOD SHOPPING
Here’s an overview of all the supermarkets and markets near Le Mas & Le Mazet.
For instance the Sunday morning markets in Issigeac and also St. Cyprien are great. The best food shop is Grand Frais in Bergerac, fantastic products at reasonable prices.
Monpazier is the best bet for bread as there are two bakeries there.
