Your stay at Le Mas & Le Mazet

Always happy to advise

We (Rupert and Franck) live on-site, in a converted tobacco barn which you pass to reach Le Mas & Le Mazet. We’re on hand to help you with advice on where to go and what to do during your holiday.

Private chef

Our fantastic French private chef who had his own Michelin-star, can cook for you at Le Mas, bringing the restaurant to you. As a group, choose one from his selection of menus and he’ll arrange the date with you. He’ll arrive early to prepare and to lay the table. He’ll serve you and clear everything away, leaving you to enjoy the delicious food and great company!

Food on arrival

You can order a dinner package from our local traiteur for you to warm up. The duck lasagna and homemade quiches are delicious! This can be arranged for your arrival day, so that you don’t have to worry about shopping and cooking. You might like to go to the Sunday morning market at Issigeac to stock up – the supermarkets are open then too.

If you want to taste and learn about Bergerac and French wines without getting in the car, then we can arrange for our wine expert to come to Le Mas and give you a fantastic wine-tasting session.

High-speed internet

There are total speeds of over 250 Mbps in Le Mas, Le Mazet and in the summer kitchen; 100 Mbps by the pool. Netflix advises that you need 5 Mpbs to watch a HD film on a laptop. So 20 of you can watch films by the pool at the same time!

EV charging point

There is a dedicated parking space with a fast charging point (22kW; type 2 connector) for electric vehicles. We’ll give you a card to swipe to activate the charger and record your usage so that you get a specified bill at the end of your stay.

Bed linen and towels

There are goose-down duvets on the beds in the double bedrooms, but there are also anti-allergy duvets available. All the bed linen is 100% Egyptian cotton, and the towels are also pure cotton.  We also provide pool towels. For longer stays the bed linen and towels are changed weekly.

Young children

We provide two travel cots with mattresses, two high chairs in both the kitchen and summer kitchen, children’s cutlery, plates and bowls, anti-slip mats for the baths, and some books, indoor and outdoor games.

Garden produce

Please help yourselves to the walnuts, hazelnuts, chestnuts, apples, pears, plums and mirabelles, cherries, peaches, medlars, quince, sorb, blackberries and sloes. There are also herbs – rosemary, thyme, sage, oregano and mint planted for you.
Our neighbours below Le Mas have an organic permaculture farm, from whom you can buy season vegetables or order a veg box.

Le Mas has central heating throughout and Le Mazet has electric radiators in the rooms. There is also a wood burner in Le Mazet and two in Le Mas, which are effective and cosy. We provide all the firewood you’ll need, sourced from our neighbour’s woods!

There are some simple tricks to keep the house cool in the summer, which we’ll show you. There are fans in all the bedrooms.

You’ll find The White Company’s Noir range in the bathrooms (hand soaps, hand and body lotion, shower gel, shampoo and conditioner) and in the kitchens (cleansing hand soap and hand lotion). Compliments of the house!

In each house you’ll find a Nespresso machine and Aeroccino, a Bluetooth speaker, iron and ironing board and hoover. Le Mas also has a filter coffee machine. Each bathroom has a hairdryer.

Cleaning products

We provide dishwasher tablets, washing-up liquid, detergents, bin bags, loo paper and other cleaning products for your use.

End-of-stay clean

When you leave, all we ask is that you tidy up. We’ll clean, to ensure it’s as perfect as it was when you arrived, but we would appreciate all the games, toys, books etc. being put back.

Massages, pilates and yoga

We can arrange ways for you to relax when staying here, such as a personalized holistic massage under the trees or in your room, or a tailor-made yoga or pilates session.

The property will be available to you from 4.00 p.m. on your day of arrival until 10.00 a.m. on the day of departure.
